  • Coming soon!(maybe)

Like our new Seattle studio, our new website is still under construction… there is no rushing the genius that is sure to change the world as we know it… or somethin'.

  • Cool Neighbors

We were lucky to work with the super cool people at the super cool local shop Creature on a few projects recently. We produced some radio spots and web content and sound design for a few :15 second web pre-rolls for Microsoft's Hotmail "New Busy" campaign along with some very funny radio spots for Seattle's Best Coffee. Check out the recent spots section.

  • Has a paper-machete cockatoo ever lied to you?

Imagine our excitement when nail in Providence, R.I. called and asked us to help develop a new campaign for Margarita's Mexican Restaurants. When they said it involves a colorful paper-machete cockatoo spokesbird with an attitude named Hector we said we are totally all in. That meant casting, directing, mixing and composing the awesome theme music with Charlie and Nels Nelson Music. Hector says things like, "I think you should try Margaritas' Adobo Chicken Fajitas. How can a bird recommend eating another bird? Because it is so juicy."

  • Let's take this outside

Living in a state that long ago banned smoking in public spaces, it was hard to imagine that there are still states where it's ok to choke non-smokers to death with second-hand smoke. We were happy to partner with Arnold Worldwide and Legacy to produce some radio spots that address this important issue with the usual mix of humor and poignancy that the creatives at Arnold always pull off so well.

  • What is a "G" anyway?

Got a call from Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco to produce some radio for Sprint. Seems 3G is old hat, so we did some spots for the 4G network... along with some great stuff for Sprint's NASCAR tie-in. You can listen to it in the recent spots section.

  • The GPS so nice they named it twice

Just finished a package of spots in NYC for our friends at Boathouse for Tom Tom, the best GPS devise known to man. We'd be lost without such cool clients.

  • January 2010

  • Goodbye 2009!

Hello new decade! Safe to say we should all just look forward, eh? We did manage to finish the rather tumultuous year with some fun work, though.

We continued producing the super fun "Taco Novela" campaign that we helped create for Taco Bell and Draftfcb.
It's a world of greed, lust, spurned lovers and 5-layer burritos.

We also had the honor of creating the new Progressive Insurance campaign with the fine creatives from Arnold Worldwide. The new batch of spots feature the super talented Stephanie Courtney (Flo) hosting a call-in show replete with retro-jingle singers. Very fun.

Other work for great clients like Tom Tom, McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, Chili's, Volvo, Bahamas Tourism, MTV, Amtrak, Subway, Blue Cross Blue Shield, truth, Liberty Mutual, Carnival Cruises and Choice Hotels helped keep us off the streets.

  • Count us in!

We teamed up with the unbelievably nice people at G+G Advertising in Montana to produce spots for the 2010 Census. Geared for the American Indian, Alaskan and Hawaiian markets, we used real non-actors from all over the country to deliver the important message about being counted and helping your community. Dane Gorman from Speak Casting did an awesome job finding the talent.

  • When the going gets rough ... Expand!

We're really excited that bartradio and Nels Nelson have banded together (no pun intended) and are expanding the Seattle studio to include a world-class music recording space, a composing suite for Nels' Charlie Smith, and most importantly a real kitchen and lounge! That's right. A sink with running water, a dishwasher, a full-size fridge, a flat screen TV .... we may never go home! You can see the progress here. We hope to share some photos of the finished space very soon.
  • Speakin' on the Nels tip ...

Robb and Charlie have kept themselves super busy collaborating with all sorts of cool musician-types on a wide variety of projects.

Charlie's band Throw me the Statue staged another successful North American tour last fall in support of Creaturesque, the new album for Secretly Canadian that made many Best of 2009 lists. TMTS capped off the year with a big 2010 New Years Eve show with indie stalwarts Cake. Presently, TMTS are recording some B-sides and in May, Charlie and the the boys will tour Japan!

Charlie is also working with local whiz Galen Green creating a live version of his new record, Tiny Weapons. And he's writing, arranging and recording horns for the new Jens Lekman record.

Robb has been no slacker himself, producing and engineering projects for the likes of singer/songwriter Brian Erickson, trumpeter Michel Navedo, ridiculously cool guitar player Park Evans, and bluegrass band Bucks T4.

  • Et tu, bartradio?

Still not sure what the hell it is is but we're tweeting on Twitter like there's no tomorrow. We're also thinking about developing the next big social networking website ourselves.
